This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. I cannot write a good enough review about this hotel. I continue to tell everyone I speak to about Mexico about the specific hotel and experience. It really was that amazing!! Ride a 15-minute ferry over to Isla. Get off the ferry and walk two blocks to your left to get to the hotel. The room was stunning. We had the presidential suite facing the ocean and we’re staying with one other couple. It was an apartment-style room we all had a lot of room to spread out in and also had our very own patio with a pool overlooking the ocean. . We also chose to eat at the Asian restaurant two times because it honestly was wonderful. We then ate at the beach club restaurant for dinner which has also an excellent menu and has entertainment nightly which was awesome.”

Departure Point

Av Juárez 87, Centro – Supmza. 001, 77400 Isla Mujeres, Q.R., Mexico (6 minute walk from hotel)

Itinerary

The Mexican National Marine Park is about a 20-25 minute boat ride from downtown Isla Mujeres. On this snorkel tour, you’ll get to spend about half an hour at both the Underwater Museum (MUSA) and one of the coral reefs nearby, Manchones. With the depth at ~30ft, you’ll have an easy view of the corals and wildlife below, including several species of reef fish and other wildlife. This destination is part of the Mexican National Marine Park, so a lifejacket is required. You can rent snorkel equipment with us for $5usd.

MUSA is an innovative project designed to counteract the effects of climate change on our oceans and reef systems. This museum is a work-in-progress and located just off the coast of Isla Mujeres. It was formally opened to the public on November 26, 2010, and will ultimately consist of 12 galleries containing nearly 1,364 artificial habitats. The aim is to discharge the accumulated impact of nearly 800,000 visiting tourists each year in the natural reef of the National Marine Park while increasing the overall biomass of the reef system and habitat areas for marine life to colonize.

Swim with the whale sharks

Rise early to start the day at Carey Dive Center (a 3 minute walk from the hotel) for their acclaimed whale shark adventure.

https://careydivecenter.com/whale-shark-tours-isla-mujeres/

By far the biggest underwater attraction in the Mexican Caribbean has to be the much-anticipated annual whale shark migration from June 1st until September 15th. These gentle giants of the deep, known to reach up to 40ft in length, can be found in the waters around Isla Mujeres, Contoy and Holbox. Each whale shark has its own unique set of spots and stripes and has a lifespan of up to 70 years.

Take a boat ride out to see them and you will be able to safely swim and snorkel alongside these magnificent creatures.

The tour includes the boat ride, equipment and refreshments. Boats accommodate a maximum of 10 people and depart daily at 8:00 AM and return by 2:00 PM

The Mexican government has strict regulations concerning these swims.

  • Each swimmer is only allowed in the water twice during each tour.
  • Only 2 divers are allowed to snorkel at a time.
  • Do not touch the whale sharks.
  • You must wear a life vest.
  • Make sure to stay away from the whale shark’s tail.
Dinner and live music at the hotel.

Best Atv Tour, 5 Ziplines and Cenote jump with Transportation from Cancun  (even though transport from Cancun listed surely they will make arrangements to meet on Isla Mujeres – sc)

The people here really make you feel comfortable even if you do not know how to swim. They are very friendly and very professional. Angel, Roy and Ritchie (I think I spelled it right) were our tour people and they made everything fun. The ATV route is very bumpy so be prepared for this. But it is very very fun. The Cenote jump has a zip line jump, a free 21 foot jump, and stairs to walk down if you do not want to jump. The Ziplines are actually only 3, but it is very worth it. These people really take care of you. ALSO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE TEN USD OR 200 PESOS TO RENT THE LOCKERS FOR YOUR BELONGINGS. Another ten dollars for the face scarf to block the debris and dirt from the ATV. The lunch is free as well. Drinks are bought separately though. Overall this excursion was amazing and I would do it again which is why I am recommending anyone who is reading this, to reserve your trip ASAP

Date of experience: March 2020

Overview

Travel through the Mayan jungle on this action-packed all-day guided tour. Hop on your own ATV (or ride along with a driver) and head to a cenote, an underwater pool, where you can take a refreshing dip. Then fly above the treetops on a ziplining course. A local Mayan lunch is included. It is important to mention that only 18 years old and above are permitted to drive, so in this case, you need to share an ATV (adult and youth)

Itinerary

Imagine this. Dare to challenge the mud roads in the middle of the jungle on board an ATV, enjoy an unique experience in the world, top of Mexico activities, imagine traveling on an imperfect road full of mud, stones, climbs, descents, water and lots of fun in company of your partner or your family. You can drive your own ATV as single service or simply be accompanied by your true love in a double service. Discover a cenote, that is a sacred place for the Mayan culture, the ancient Mayans believed that the cenotes were doors to the underworld o infraworld. In this Mayan pool you can enter as a warrior through a jump like tarzan style or if you prefer a more quiet option you can access through a safe ladder. Finally we will go to the circuit of zip lines, here you can fly through the treetops, these ziplines are considered the safest because we have the best security equipment which has the highest levels of security requested worldwide. Imagine being able to fly, scream, and be amazed with the beautiful views you will have flying like an eagle. Enjoy the nature in a different way. At the end we will go to the restaurant to eat a delicious Mayan type lunch, and we will refresh ourselves with water before starting our return to the hotel or meeting point.

Return to hotel. Optional, time at beach or snorkeling with Carey Dive Center.
