Be prepared to witness white faced monkeys swinging from tree to tree, poison dart frogs, different species of birds flying around you, including but not limited to macaws, yellow female trogons, toucans eating from papaya trees, and maybe a lucky sighting of a colorful morpho butterfly.

Day Three: A day on the Pacific

with the Mega Pod

of Spinner Dolphins

Discover the Rich Coast aka Costa Rica

For our third day, we will head 20-30 miles offshore to experiences the mega pod of spinner dolphins in the Pacific. You may be asking yourself, what exactly is a mega pod? Try to imagine hundreds of dolphins spinning out of the water and thousands more underwater surrounding you in every direction. It is truly an unbelievable experience that not many get to experience, but we guarantee that we will find the mega pod and you will get in the water with these amazing mammals. Oh, and the photographs will be absolutely incredible.

Throughout the trip, adventure photographer Joseph Yerkovich will be documenting your adventure. As an underwater photographer and avid traveler, Joe will capture the magic. Then, you’ll see your pictures published in one or more of Point Publishing’s three South Florida magazines.

Day Five: Nauyaca Waterfall

Hike & Marino Ballena

National Park

The day will begin with an early morning 8 km hike to the one of Costa Rica’s magnificent cascades, Nauyaca. Along the trail to the 2 story waterfall, you will travel through the rainforest of Dominical. Seen here are all kinds of wildlife, the most popular being white faced monkeys, butterflies, & several species of snakes. The afternoon will be spent exploring Parque Nacional de Marino Ballena and later on the beach in Uvita, where you will experience one of nature’s amazing formations. Humpback whales migrate to this exact spot to find suitable mates, breed and rear young.

Northern humpbacks typically start to arrive in Costa Rica in December and can be seen until around April, while southern ones don’t show up until later in July and stay until the beginning of November.
