TRIP OVERVIEW

The 976 foot Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier is the crowned jewel on our beach, attracting thousands of visitors and fisherman annually. For one day a year, the City of Deerfield Beach closes the pier to fishing and opens it for underwater scuba divers to facilitate a reef cleanup. Insider Excursions has put a twist on things this year and has organized a night dive photoshoot.

SourceIf you have yet to experience a night dive, we want you to know that we are about to change the way you feel about scuba diving.  At night, the marine world appears to be more beautiful, colorful and mysterious and the calmness of night diving is completely different than any other form of scuba diving. This experience will be photographed by a professional underwater of all divers present during this dive.

The very next morning we will do it all again, only this time we will help #savetheocean and Set a Guinness World Record on June 15, 2019 in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

This insider experience will go beyond our cleanup efforts; we will join our community in helping to save our planet as we tell a story underneath the pier, which will be featured in three magazines across South Florida.

Complete the interest form to take part in this event June 14 and June 15, 2019.

UNDERWATER

CLEANUP

Official Underwater Cleanup Details

Divers from across the United States and around the world are coming together in an attempt to break the world record for the largest underwater cleanup. Throughout the year, tons of debris is left on the ocean floor particularly hooks, fishing line, plastic, glass, all of which are all harmful to our ecosystem and marine life.

This year, more than 700 divers are expected to take part in the record attempt in Deerfield Beach, Florida, USA on June 15, 2019.

For one day a year the City of Deerfield Beach closes the pier to fishing and opens it for underwater scuba divers to facilitate a reef cleanup. The pier has some of the most active and abundant marine life in all of Deerfield Beach. This once-a-year event is a stellar opportunity for divers to explore the usually forbidden area.

Divers will be able to dive around and under the pier from 9am until 11am. Volunteers are also needed on land to help pull out buckets of trash.
